Functional training Haslemere Surrey

Functional Training

Instructors :

- Anabel Dorman

-Nosheen Janes

Functional training focuses on training the body to perform movements that are specific to daily life or to a particular sport. The goal of functional training is to improve the body's ability to perform tasks that are necessary for daily living, such as carrying groceries or playing a sport, rather than just isolating specific muscles.

Functional training exercises involve using multiple muscle groups at the same time. We use equipment such as bosu balls, kettlebells, or resistance bands. The exercises are designed to mimic the movements and patterns that the body naturally uses, to challenge balance and stability as well as strength. It can help to improve overall physical function and reduce the risk of injury.

Vinyasa, is a type of yoga that involves linking postures (asanas) together in a sequence, moving with the breath. Vinyasa classes are typically dynamic and involve more movement and less time spent holding individual postures than other types of yoga.

The teacher will usually lead you through a series of poses that are linked together in a specific sequence. These sequences involve transitioning between standing poses, seated poses, and poses on the floor.

Classes vary according to the teacher, so it’s a good idea to try a few to see which one suits you best. Many classes are suitable for people of all fitness and ability levels and if you don’t have much experience, our teachers will help you to modify the poses as needed.
